Impact report 2020: the real impact of trailblazing research

The St Vincent's Clinic Foundation is pleased to present its 2020 impact report.

In 2020, the St Vincent's Clinic Foundation invested over $950,000 in research projects, with 17 grants awarded to healthcare innovators, of which two were dedicated to COVID-19. The impact report highlights how the Foundation has been continuously promoting vital research for a wide range of medical conditions, aiming to unlock new understanding of a disease, discover new potential treatments and enhance patient care. It also profiles and celebrates key innovators who are blazing new paths and changing patients’ lives.

"The pandemic has unequivocally shined a light on the essential role of research – and thereby demonstrated the vital need to support research projects, now and well into the future. This is the very reason why the Foundation was born almost 30 years ago. This is also why in May, we promptly responded to the urgent need for research response by creating a dedicated COVID grant," says A/Prof Brett Courtenay OAM, President of St Vincent’s Clinic Foundation in the report. "While we are excited to support COVID-related research efforts, we also want to recognize our researchers who, in many cases, have managed to make headways in spite of the pandemic challenges."
