From 1992 to 2019 she was Group General Counsel and Company Secretary of Fairfax Media Limited, with responsibility for all legal services, government and corporate relations, ASX compliance, internal audit and risk. She was also deeply involved in the growth and development Fairfax Digital businesses including Domain, Stan Entertainment and its other digital businesses. In 2026, Gail was awarded as a Member in the Order of Australia for significant service to the media and communications sector, to the arts, and to the legal profession. She Is a member of the Media and Communications and Privacy Committees of the Law Council of Australia.
